Lifehook® Service & Testing Policy

Lifehook® anchors are mechanical safety devices that are subject to repeated stress from forces generated when arresting a fall.  Over time, these forces may cause wear on key parts of the product.  As with all safety components of a personal fall arrest system, the Lifehook® anchor must be inspected prior to each use.  If the product does not pass inspection, or if at any time the trainer suspects the product has been overloaded, the product must be removed from use and returned for service and retesting.

Due to differences in duration and frequency of use of Lifehook® anchors in various training programs, the interval for service and retesting is ultimately at the discretion of the dedicated competent or qualified person, usually the instructor of the apprentice training program.  To certify the anchor remains in compliance with federal regulations, The Pulse Corporation suggests that the Lifehook® anchor is serviced and retested once every two years.

When you purchase a Lifehook® anchor, it is rigorously proof-tested to certify a minimum strength rating of 5500 lbs.  As a proof mark, the test number is stamped into the Lifehook® anchor.  If you require compliance information about your Lifehook® anchor such as the last date of service and testing, or if you need to schedule new service and testing, please provide this number to our customer support personnel.

Factory retesting is a fee-based compliance service available for all Lifehook® products manufactured since January 1, 1995.  An estimate of 400 dollars per anchor, plus freight, may be used for budgeting purposes but actual costs may be less.  An inspection will be conducted upon receipt of your Lifehook® anchor at The Pulse Corporation factory.  If any additional parts and/or repair labor are deemed necessary, an estimate of additional charges will be provided for your approval prior to performing service and testing.
