Quality

Meeting the criteria of a standardized inspection program alone only assures a uniform level or consistency of quality; it does not necessarily assure that the level is a high one.  A high level of quality simply cannot be inspected into a product. A consistently high level of quality can only exist under a synergy of conditions: an advanced and uncompromising design, the strongest materials, precise fabrication and assembly, and finally, rigorous testing to levels that exceed federal requirements.  This is how Lifehook products are made, and why they are the safest, strongest, and longest lasting utility training anchors in the industry.

Safer

The Lifehook L-Series is a key component of a pole-top training system and integrates several clever pieces of engineering proving them functionally safer than competing products.

The adjustable mounting bracket is designed to reinforce the upper section of the utility pole.  The Lifehook installs by cross-fastening through the pole rather than simply clamping to the pole.  This prevents the generation of pressure points when under the load of arresting a fall, preventing damage to the pole.  The greatest benefit of the design is that, when properly installed on a plumb pole, the system continues to perform properly without requiring ongoing adjustments to keep it level.

The davit of the Lifehook derives its strength from an open architecture design.  The benefits of which allow the Lifehook davit to achieve a low rotating mass for quick and accurate alignment with the climber, while minimizing its profile to be least affected by changes in wind direction.  Another important aspect of the davit design is a longer offset for the attachment of the system’s self-retracting lifeline.  This better keeps the line behind the climber’s center of gravity to prevent them from striking, or otherwise contacting the pole at the moment of arresting a fall.

Stronger

The strength of a Lifehook product not only reflects its quality, but is a leading reason for their reputation of unsurpassed durability.  The engineers of Lifehook products view federal minimum strength requirements as a starting point rather than an end game.  A few examples of how a higher safety factor is incorporated into Lifehook products include the use of specific high-tensile strength steel alloys, the development of proprietary metallurgy in the anchor construction, and rigorous testing procedures applied to every single anchor that comes off the line.

Only Lifehook products are 100% proof-tested before first use in the field.  Custom-built machinery is calibrated to apply a force of 5500 pounds, and only upon successful testing is the product stamped with a unique identifier.  This testing procedure certifies product strength in excess of federal regulations and the claimed strength of competing products.  Proof-testing is superior to dimensional inspection alone as it tests the strength of the finished product, the homogeneity of materials, the strength of welds, and the precision of fabrication and assembly in the manufacturing process.

Lasts Longer

No competing utility training anchor can truthfully have a claim to have protected more apprentice climbers for as long as Lifehook products.  Customer documentation indicates that Lifehook products outlast other devices by eight to ten years.  Not only do Lifehook systems protect the apprentice climber from a wider range of injuries, a longer expected service life makes Lifehook products a better value by providing a lower overall cost of ownership.

Lifehook utility training fall protection anchors are also the only products of their kind to offer comprehensive inspection, maintenance, refurbishing, and retesting services throughout the service life of the product*.  Along with SRL inspection and recalibration, periodic retesting of Lifehook anchors assures optimum product performance and continued compliance with OSHA regulations.
