Lifehook® Pole-Top L55 Safety & strength make it a better value
Advantages of an exclusive pole reinforcing mounting bracket The L55 installs easily and securely by cross-fastened bolts through a split-cylinder mounting bracket designed to reinforce the upper section of the utility pole. Compared with competing products, the L55 mounting bracket provides more than 20 times the surface area to contact the pole. Having a larger contact area reduces pressure points on the pole when under the forces of arresting a fall. The design of our mounting bracket safely disperses fall arrest forces to prevent damage to the pole or potential splitting of the pole. In addition, the L55 mounting bracket design helps it remain level with prolonged use making it less prone to swing to one side, assuring consistent performance and safety, and eliminating the repeated adjustments needed on competing products. Advantages of an “open architecture” rotating davit Compared to the heavy, slab-sided davits found on competing products, the L55 davit has less than a third of the surface area for prevailing winds to act upon, allowing it to perform in a much more predictable manner. The L55 davit features a lower rotating mass than davits found on competing products to provide faster rotation and better alignment with the climber’s position on the pole. Remaining aligned with the climber prevents a dangerous swing fall situation which has the potential to cause injury to the climber, or cause a self-retracting lifeline to malfunction. The distance on the davit from the center of rotation to the attachment point used to affix a self-retracting lifeline is three inches greater on the L55 than on competing products. This provides a major safety advantage by better locating the lifeline behind the climber’s center of gravity. The Lifehook® design helps to consistently prevent the climber from striking the pole at the onset of a fall or cut-out, providing better protection from contusions and bodily contact with creosotic splinters. Advantages of being the strength test leader With the advantage of many additional years of design development and testing, Lifehook® engineers provide a lineman training system that installs and performs more safely than competing products. Starting with a robust reinforced design, Lifehook® components are precision machined from specific high strength metals. The choice of high quality materials combined with proprietary manufacturing methods produce a highly reliable product with significantly greater strength and factor of safety over competing products. Fall protection anchorage components, by federal law, must have the minimum strength to support 5000 pounds per attached worker before breakage can occur. Every Lifehook® unit made undergoes a rigorous proof testing procedure to certify compliance with minimum breakage strength requirements. In fact; our products exceed federal standards by a minimum of 10%, making them the strongest lineman training systems your company can purchase. |
