Lifehook® Height-Adjustable FB6

A very versatile training tool

We invented the patented Lifehook® Height-Adjustable FB6 lineman training anchor to provide our customers with a versatile system that is fully serviceable and can be utilized in a variety of ways.

The Lifehook® FB6 is lighter and more compact than our pole-top Lifehook® units.  Its smaller dimensions make for easier transporting when training climbers at multiple locations or for field testing potential apprentices outside of the main training facility.

For smaller or restricted budgets, the Lifehook® FB6 can be used as a single-man system installed at lower heights to utilize shorter, and therefore less expensive, self-retracting lifelines.

As a single-man system, the Lifehook® FB6 can be easily adjusted to increased heights as your apprentices become acclimated with their climbing skills at each level in your training program.

When we invented the Height-Adjustable FB6, we rendered traditional two-man systems obsolete.  It takes more than welding on an extra davit to make a two-man system.  If competing two-man systems were designed to the letter of the law as stated in federal regulations, they would have to be rated to a minimum of 10,000 lbs.  Secondly, a highly unsafe situation is created by having two climbers (trainer and apprentice) share the same axis of rotation.  If one were to engage such a system by falling, the forces created by arresting the fall from one climber would negatively affect the second climber.  The safer alternative is to use the Lifehook® Height-Adjustable FB6 in tandem with a second FB6 or in combination with a Lifehook® Pole-Top L55.  By incorporating the Lifehook® FB6 as part of a two-man system, you’ll be in true compliance with minimum strength regulations and you'll be be providing each climber an independently rotating anchor so that the actions of one climber will not interfere with those of the second.

The Lifehook® FB6 includes all necessary installation hardware and features an exclusive provision that serves two functions.  First, it allows the unit to be positioned hands-free on the pole to make installation easy and secondly, for additional safety over competing products that rely on clamping pressure alone, it prevents the unit from shifting from side to side when exposed to the torque of the forces generated when arresting a fall.
